Guest posts

Write for Chimpcharge.

We accept a small number of guest posts every month from freelancers, small business owners, accountants, lawyers, and operators who have a specific story to tell or framework to share.

What we are looking for

  • Specific and useful. A real number, a real client story, a real spreadsheet, a real contract clause. The kind of detail that only someone who has done the work can offer.
  • Opinionated. Tell us what you actually think, not the safe middle ground. We will push back if we disagree.
  • Well structured. A clear argument with subheadings, examples, and a takeaway. Most guest posts run between 1,200 and 2,500 words.
  • Original. Not previously published elsewhere, and not a thinly disguised promo for your product.

Topics we cover

Pricing models, client acquisition, contracts, scope management, freelance taxes, bookkeeping, business entity selection, hiring your first contractor, marketing, sales calls, retainers, niching down, productized services, and the messy human side of working for yourself.

What you get

  • A byline with a short bio and one followed link.
  • Editorial help. We read every draft carefully and suggest edits.
  • Promotion across our channels and inclusion in our newsletter roundups.

How to pitch

Send a short email with the working title, a two or three sentence summary of the argument, and one link to a previous piece of writing or relevant work. If we are interested we will reply within two weeks. If we pass, we will tell you.
